The Coldest Night of the Year with Amanda Belanger

The Coldest Night of the Year Event is scheduled to take place in Truro, Nova Scotia on the evening of February 25, 2017. The goal is to raise $75,000 for the Truro Homeless Outreach Society.

Caldwell Roach Insurance provides support to many community-based organizations and helps their employees in their volunteer efforts. “When Amanda approached us about putting in a team, we were happy to support her and the event,” said Caldwell Roach owner, Greg Roach.

Amanda Belanger, an Insurance Broker at our Elmsdale office is the Captain for the Caldwell Roach Protectors team. This is Amanda’s third year being involved with this event, and her second year with the Caldwell Roach Protectors. The team currently has 11 team members, the youngest is Amanda’s six year-old son Emmett.

 “Every day we help people protect the things that are important to them through insurance, this is just another way for us to help people in the communities we live and work in,” explains Amanda. “The goal is to give people a hand up by helping to put people back into the position they were in before their situation left them homeless.”

With about 2 weeks to go before the event, the Caldwell Roach Protectors team is 65% to their goal. They recently held a sold-out fundraiser with more than 60 people participating in an ART FUN paint nite. “There is so much support from the community, our insurance partners and our employees. Everyone is rallying around this event,” said Amanda.

If you would like to get involved, she suggests, “I encourage you to come out and walk. Until you are part of an event like this, you don’t always understand what it means to support something like this,” Amanda continues. “Every year, after the walk begins, it goes very quiet. And it just hits you… the reason why we are here and how important it is to help people re-build their lives.”

This event is just one of many organizations Caldwell Roach Insurance and their employees are involved with, helping to improve the communities they live and work in.
